Congratulations to our Dragon Boat race team 'Oar We There Yet?' for coming 7th place at Newark's Dragon Boat race and raising over £1000 for Beaumond House and the Children's Bereavement Centre!

Well done to team ‘Oar We There Yet?’ for coming seventh out of 27 teams in Newark's Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 15th September!

The first race saw our team come second with 76.66 seconds.

The second race our team won a close race with 65.36 seconds.

And the third race we also won with our best time of 63.18 seconds!

The fastest six teams (taking their fastest two scores out of the three heats) went through to two semi-final races, with the two winners and fastest runner up racing it out in the final for the trophy.

Our team’s overall score was 128.54, and unfortunately just missed out on competing in the semi-finals by 0.01 seconds, with the team in sixth place having a score of 128.53!

The team have smashed the £800 target, raising £1000.60 for Beaumond House and the Children’s Bereavement Centre! Well done team!

A note from the organisers: “We were totally over whelmed by the support on the day from all of the businesses and local community. The people of Newark really stepped up to the mark and came out in their droves to support us. We wanted to say from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much!”

Who are we raising money for?
