Proud holders of the Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award – now aiming for Silver

Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award

The Barcode Warehouse (TBW) has long been a supporter of the armed forces community – and as a proud holder of the Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award, we’ve pledged to be an armed forces-friendly employer.

This award recognises our commitment to welcoming veterans, reservists, cadet instructors, and military families into our workforce. We’ve signed the Armed Forces Covenant and made a clear promise to ensure that no one from the defence community is unfairly disadvantaged in our recruitment process.

Veterans, reservists, cadet instructors and military spouses bring unique perspectives, values and skills that are a huge asset to our business.”

We’ve got our sights set on Silver Award

We’re actively working hard to strengthen our internal policies and build even more awareness of the support we offer our forces community with the aim of achieving the next level – an Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award. After that we’ll be working to achieve a Gold Award holder and recognised as a true exemplar in our sector for championing the armed forces from a career perspective.

Peter Oakley, a veteran of the Royal Marines and British Army and now Enterprise Account Director – Healthcare at TBW, said: “The Barcode Warehouse family has deep rooted links with HM Armed Forces and many of our team, both past and present, have served in some capacity. The Armed Forces Covenant provides us an opportunity to publicly promote our dedication to supporting those who give so much to our nation and our neighbours, whether that’s providing global humanitarian response to natural disasters, uplifting medical capability during pandemics here in the UK, or protecting and defending allied interests in hostile theatres.”
