Barcode Warehouse to support Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2025 as gold sponsor.

Nominations are now open for the Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2025, and this year we’re delighted to be the Gold Sponsor of the Emergency Services and Armed Forces category.
Newark and Sherwood District Council, in partnership with Radio Newark, is looking for individuals, teams, or groups who go above and beyond for the community or local sport. Whether it’s a friend, teacher, colleague, or local hero – if they make a difference, then you can nominate them for an award.
There are a range of categories in this year’s awards and The Emergency Services and Armed Forces category is designed to recognise those working or volunteering on the frontline including firefighters, paramedics, special constables and volunteer first responders who go above and beyond to serve the community.
Barcode Warehouse HR and Customer Services Director, Jo Lee said: “This sponsorship signals our continued support in recognising vital roles within the emergency services sector. We are proud to be able to support an award category that recognises individuals who often work in very challenging circumstances each and every day and who often don’t get the recognition they deserve."
Jo added: “This annual award is a key event in our local community calendar and is important because our frontline workers and volunteers are there when people need them most. By supporting this award, we hope to shine a light on the dedication and courage these individuals show every day.”
The Community and Sports Awards, run by Newark and Sherwood District Council in partnership with Radio Newark, aim to celebrate local achievements across a wide range of categories – from sporting success to community contributions.
A Newark and Sherwood District Council spokesperson said: “We are delighted that The Barcode Warehouse have become a Gold Sponsor this year. It makes a big difference to have strong business support for our work in the community. And these awards are about recognising real people in our communities – whether it’s someone helping others in a crisis or giving up their time to support others. We want to hear about them.”
