What is Powered USB ?
Powered USB is a special connection originally developed by IBM for their range of retail POS terminals. It is now being introduced by a number of manufacturers in Retail and other industries.
How is it different from Standard USB ?
Powered USB is different to standard USB as it can supply 24VDC at upto 6A. Standard USB is limited to 5VDC at 500mA which is sufficient for most PC type peripherals like mice and keyboards but not for a printer.
This cable may not be used to connect the Printer to a PC, it may only be used to connect to POS terminals.
